who decided that being with someone was a prerequisite for happiness? can’t someone live in solitude and be happy?

i blame THE MAN.

investing the time, money, and emotions into finding “the one” is a big waste. you get a horrible return. it’s not very constructive. i’d rather buy a jetpack.

most people would dump their problems on someone else rather than figure it out for themselves.

madpeirrot (10:24:28 PM): are all women selfish?

sure, except the ones who give head. they’re saints.

    i wouldn’t exactly call it a prerequisite.

i imagine if you were motivated enough, work or art. self-improvement could replace being with someone.

it’s easier for other people to lie and tell you you’re getting cuter/smarter/more talented than to actually work to get that way.

i dont think being with someone is a prerequisite for happiness, i just think humans are social creatures that crave companionship. i dont know about you, but i just feel better when i’m around someone i like.

my roommate just got a girlfriend and he’s really happy. so i’m drawing a conclusion from this one data point to say that being with someone => happiness.

i know plenty of people who are with others and are not happy, though.
