long time no see blog. good to be typing again. i’m here to talk about something important amongst all the elections, storms, and what not going on.

my microwave died.

the sharp r-120d was a good microwave that lasted me through college and beyond. no one knew it was a microwave at first because the buttons are behind the door, not next to them.

“is that a fridge?”

but it was sure tiny. 14″x14″x14″ (cube!) and it fit so well on my countertop. sharp no longer makes it and the “smallest” microwaves these days are at least 18″

BALLS!

i’ll have to rearrange my kitchen after getting a new microwave and that’ll be weird.

hell, maybe i’ll blog about it.

haven’t blogged in a while. guess things have been going well so i haven’t felt the need to vent and nothing’s been very “i need to blog about this!”

newsworthy items:

woke up at 8am to find that part of the macarthur maze had collapsed on itself. there are some crazy photos on sfgate. for once, they didn’t say “terrorism was ruled out as a cause.”
saw my friends erin and johnny today before they left on their road trip around the country in a vanagon. i envy them.
have a new gf. her name is super k.
currently reading: the road and kafka by the shore. just finished world war z and pride of baghdad. still working on lolita and requiem for a dream.
i’m really enjoying the planet earth series on the discovery channel. nature is awesome.

The third alternative is to abolish DRMs entirely. Imagine a world where every online store sells DRM-free music encoded in open licensable formats. In such a world, any player can play music purchased from any store, and any store can sell music which is playable on all players. This is clearly the best alternative for consumers, and Apple would embrace it in a heartbeat. If the big four music companies would license Apple their music without the requirement that it be protected with a DRM, we would switch to selling only DRM-free music on our iTunes store. Every iPod ever made will play this DRM-free music.
